The 2017 Woodenbong 26th Annual Show was held on Sunday 17th September and was officially opened by Kyogle Mayor Danielle Mulholland with guests Thomas George MP State Member for Lismore, along with Show President Margaret Martin and Kevin Hogan MP Federal Member for Page.

The Show provided outstanding exhibits, events, Show Girl competition, beef cattle, show jumping and farmers challenge and food was available and much socialising took place, with all attracting a huge crowd who appreciated all the hard work done by the Show Committee.
Show Girl: Tegan Jones, Miss Teen Show Girls: Entrants: Emily Weston, Chelsea Wadsworth, Jemima Lee, Cheyann Cockram, Annaleise Barrett, Bessie Wilson - Runner Up: Cheyanne Cockram, Winner: Jemima Lee. Miss Junior Show Girls: Jemimah Williams, Madison Fleming, Katelyn Grimmett - Runner Up: Jemimah Williams, Winner: Madison Fleming. Tiny Tots Show Girls - Lola Lindsay, Ada Shaw, Millie Dickons and Brooklyn Stubbings. The Judges - Amanda O'Reilly, Jim Peterson and Ann Varely. The judging proved difficult as all the entrants displayed well above average performance and congratulations to all.
In the Pavilion the “Most Outstanding Junior Exhibitor” Joshua Weston with is Timber Day Bed. “Most Outstanding Exhibitor” Shirley Hardcastle with her Embroidery Quilt. “Most Outstanding Over 70’s Exhibitor Mary Berg with her painting of the beef cattle. Most Points - Ivy Reid with 104. A feature of the Pavilion was where Formal Dresses were on display which included twins, Ivy Reid and Marge Pethers wedding dresses dating back from 1949.
The Photography Section was well supported with 249 entries with “Best in Section” Andrea McIntosh and “People’s Choice” Larissa Scarlett.
In the Farmers Challenge events 12 to 18 year: “Girl Power” won, Connor Smith, Hayden Fletcher, Joe Lee and Emily Weston. 18 to 35 years “Young Guns” Billie Reid, Madeleine Barrett, Isabella Barret and Ethan Reid vs over 35 Years “Frosties” - Sandra Reid, Ian Reid, Steven Reid and Brendan Fletcher and Frosties won very convincingly.
“Supreme Champion Beef Exhibit” Charolais, Valley View, Chiffon Redemption. “Led Steer Champion” Limousin, Iron Pot Pastoral, Kip Steer led by Amanda O'Reilly. “Parader Competition Winner” Colby George.
“Junior Judging” 1st: Dylan Hoffman of Urbenville, 2nd: Luke Allen of Leycester.
Many equestrian events enthralled the crowds. Apologies: as winners information was not to hand at the time of printing.
Horse Sports and Novelty Events were held appealing to the younger Pony Club contestants.
Margaret Martin the President of the Woodenbong Show Committee wished to thank all of her Fellow Committee Members and the very willing band of volunteers who contributed to the overall success of the Show.
