Money for engaging art

Got an idea for an arts project that will engage the community?

The federal government offers around $1.2 million each financial year in grants for arts and cultural projects that encourage community participation and audience engagement from people living in regional and remote communities.

Minister for the Arts Mitch Fifield and Deputy Prime Minister and Member for New England Barnaby Joyce are inviting regional artists, arts workers and organisations in the New England to apply for Festivals Australia funding.

“This program funds festivals, parades and community celebrations in regional and remote areas,” Mr Joyce said.

“This is a terrific opportunity to plan high quality arts experiences for people living in New England. It’s events like these that help keep communities alive in country Australia.

“I encourage organisations with the capacity to deliver events to apply for funding.”

Minister Fifield said the program gives audiences access to a diverse range of art forms, and ensures Australian artists and performers gain wider exposure for their work.

Applications for this funding round close on Friday, October 20. To view the guidelines and application form go to www.arts.gov.au/festivals.
