Up against some of the country’s best, the 29-year-old smashed the competition taking out Triple J’s 2017 National Air DJ Champion last week.
“I never thought in my wildest dreams that I’d be national champion of anything,” he said.
Australian record producer Emoh broke the news to the local farmer on air with Triple J’s Veronica and Lewis after digging his moves to the electronic track Better by What So Not and LPX.
“It’s pretty ridiculous,” Mr Jackson said.
“I tried to incorporate a little bit of the farm aspect and get a bit of tractor action.
“I got my old man on the tractor with me.”
Mr Jackson said he filmed the video using two GoPros to get several angles.
“Some of the other contestants, their video editing and skills far surpassed me,” he said. “Unfortunately I don’t have any of those skills so I had to rely on some miming and a bit of luck.
“Maybe it’s the beard that won it, I don’t know.”
But it’s not the first time he’s entered.
“I had a crack at the competition last year,” he said.
“I got to the finals but didn’t quite make it.
“So this year I thought I’d give it another go … and here we are.”
And while he might be a killer air DJ, Mr Jackson certainly knows his way around a turntable.
“I’ve been DJing for about five years and am part of a record label called Um Yep,” he said.
“We’re having a bit of a crack at breaking into the electronic music scene.”
His video has become an internet sensation, attracting thousands of hits on Facebook and Instagram.
And it looks like Australia hasn’t seen the end of this creative grazier.
“I think I probably will enter again next year but I won’t compete for any of the prizes,” he said.
“I have way too much fun doing those type of videos.”
As a prize, Mr Jackson will head to this weekend’s Listen Out festival in Brisbane as a VIP.
“We get a few drinks, bit of tucker, a couch with a recharge station and your own security guard and portaloo … what more do you want?”
