The XI Ducks have floated to the top of the ladder after securing a win over the Tavern on Thursday in Round 3 of the Tenterfield Cricket Association seniors competition.

In a close match the XI Ducks posted a total of 111 from their 20 overs before restricting the Tavern to 8/106.
The XI Ducks’ Mitch Austin batted well to set up his teams total with 31 run contribution.
Todd Hayne was the well-deserved player of the match making 21 runs and also taking a tidy three wicket haul, conceding just four runs and including a maiden over.

Peter Holley and Shaun Merchant were the top run scorers for the Tavern hitting 21 and 18 runs respectively.
Dave Fowler had a blinder of a match, bowling 3/8, managing a catch and a maiden over.
Wednesday night saw the Short Fuses scoring 10/71, but that wasn’t enough to beat the KLAS Bouncers, who cruised to 5/145.
Mick Parker put on an impressive display and retired not out for 51 runs. He also bowled an outstanding over taking three wickets and giving up just a single run.
Neil Savins bowled well for the Bouncers with 2/5 and he contributed well with the bat making 19 at the top of the order.
Scott Bates was the highest run scorer for the Short Fuses hitting 26 runs.
Lindsay Lockwood took care of the bowling taking two wickets while Nev Koch managed a catch and bowled tightly only conceding six runs in his two overs.
Next week sees the Tavern take on the Short Fuses on Wednesday night while the XI Ducks are up against the Telegraph Slammers.
Don’t forget the memorial cricket match to raise money for Bruce Binge’s family will be held this Friday night, November 3 at 6pm at Shirley Park.
