Emily Henderson and Keely Mooney were both brimming with excitement with the first event of the showgirl competition fast approaching.
Emily is 19 years old and is busy working on the family property Cooredulla as well as being the weekend manager at Price Busters and a duty manager at Ice Box Liquor. Emily is a proud advocate for local agricultural issues and is looking forward to the competition as an opportunity to improve her confidence and public speaking.
Keely Mooney is 19 years old and is student learning support officer at The Sir Henry Parkes Memorial Public School. Keely has been involved in the Tenterfield Show for many years, leading cattle and entering artworks in the pavilion displays.
She has always wanted to enter the showgirl competition and is looking forward to becoming more involved in the lead up to the show. She is excited about meeting new people, presenting prizes and becoming an ambassador for tourists at the event.
The 50th anniversary of Tenterfield Showgirl Ball will be held on the evening of Saturday, November 25 at the Show Pavilion from 6pm for those who have already secured a ticket, which includes a three course meal and formalities.
Tickets will be available on the night for entry after 9pm for $15 so if you have missed out on a ticket, come down to meet the showgirls past and present, and dance the night away to entertainment from Helen Conroy.
