Melbourne fashion pioneer Lucinia Pinto and partner Stephen McGlashan have expanded their retail concept into a new store named Eastern Market Fabrica, in a fingerling lane off Little Collins Street. The store complements the pair's mission, begun at their Eastern Market Capela store in a converted Carlton chapel, to stock only the purest examples of clothing design. ''We are interested in that daily idea of a wearable, dark, draping elegance, devoid of bling,'' McGlashan says. ''That is us, that is Melbourne.'' Their exclusive collections include Paul Harnden, Carol Christian Poell, Elena Dawson, If Six Was Nine and now, Yohji Yamamoto Pour Homme's spring/summer 2012 offering. Men's and women's wear by fashion's priest of twisted minimalism, Rick Owens, will be on the racks by midyear.
