Contract Specialist - Mining Construction

Experienced Contract Specialist required to join this small Owners Team right at the outset of an exciting, brand new Lithium mine construction. Reporting to the Contract Manager you will play a key part in assisting with the awarding of major construction packages.

Your duties will include:

• Development of commercial documentation for tendering, evaluation and award of contract agreements
• Liaising with internal and external Engineering groups to determine Project planning and strategies
• Preparing and issuing Tender packages to selected Tenderers for project works.
• Be the focal point for the tenderers for all commercial and technical inquiries during the tender period.
• Conducting commercial evaluation of submitted Tenders.
• Develop Recommendation for Award and Letter of Award following appropriate company approvals.
• Conduct dispute resolution to achieve an amicable outcome.
• Provide contractual advice and responses to internal clients and Contractors.
• Conduct Commercial Supplier Assessments to determine suitability of suppliers to be added to company approved supplier list.

Experience:

• Relevant tertiary qualification Experience in Brown / Green fields construction – civil/earthworks etc
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Strategic thinker ideally with a strong commercial and contractual understanding.

Ideally you will be able to start at short notice on a contract basis.
