About the role

The General Manager Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) reports to the Chief People & Transformation Officer and leads a dedicated team of practitioners to own, evolve and drive GrainCorp’s SHE strategy through consultative partnering, powerful communication and leading practice.

Your mandate will be to build upon the Group’s established SHEQ management system and to further embed and evolve the system through behavioural-based initiatives and interventions that increase measurable adoption at all levels and across all jurisdictions in which we operate.

This is a high-profile position with significant scope, influence and autonomy to deliver positive and lasting high-impact initiatives across the GrainCorp portfolio.

In return, a highly competitive remuneration package is on offer commensurate with experience, capability and potential. Domestic relocation assistance is also available, if required.

About your experience

Our preferred candidate has relevant qualifications, deep expertise, and senior-level experience in leading a safety, health and environment function as well as:
 

• Proven success in developing and maintaining a total safety culture organisation-wide, underpinned by strategic behaviour-based approaches and initiatives
• Demonstrated critical and systems thinking approach, supported by strong analytical skills and use of data to support rationale and decision-making
• Experience and confidence in presenting to board, executive and employee-levels
• Strong communicator and ability to business partner and influence across all levels of an organisation
• Exceptional people leadership skills to grow capability, engagement and performance of a team.

In addition to providing proof of working rights and suitable professional referees, progressed candidates will be required to undertake a national police check. A current, valid driver’s licence is also required.
