OHS Systems / Safety Manager - Commercial Builder

Our client is a large leading  builder who has built a solid reputation within the building industry for the past 75 years. Possessing a portfolio of credible clients within the Leisure, health, commercial/retail and institutional sectors.
They have a solid project book for the next 5 years locked away and are now looking for an exceptional OHS Systems / Safety Manager to join the team.

As a 5+ year seasoned Senior Safety professional who is not being valued where you are, you will be the primary point of contact on a range of commercial mixed use projects.
This role will see you bring together your established stakeholder, Systems, Safety and sub-contractor management skills.

You will play an integral role to help drive and take the business into its next era.

• Experience managing OHS operations on industrial construction sites.
• Understanding of KPIs and performance management.
• An effective communicator with the ability to negotiate, influence and use diplomacy with clients, colleagues and contractors at all levels.
• Be a team player who is willing to cover absences of others outside of H&S responsibilities.
• Knowledge of appropriate permitting and licencing in location.
• Certificate IV Work Health and Safety (and ideally an OHS Practitioner/ Professional)

Preferred (in addition to minimum)

• Ability to navigate drawing packages.
• Ability to interpret legal trade contracts in relation to contractors and site.
• Relevant Health & Safety qualification. (e.g. Degree, Diploma in OHS/WHS, or equivalent).
• Relevant training for emergency protocols e.g. first aid, fire warden etc.
