As can often be the case, Tenterfield’s high school graduates looking to pursue studies are required to leave the region to further their careers.
Kimberley Bright-Mync formerly of Undercliffe and Blayne Arnold from Tenterfield are two such cases and a chance meeting gave the pair an opportunity to reminisce of their hometown.
Both have since ended up in the south-east corner of Queensland to continue their studies.
Kimberley, a Border Blues Little Athletics “graduate”, has just completed her first semester of study at Griffith University’s Gold Coast campus in the Bachelor of Exercise Science.
While Blayne, already having survived several years of rigorous study, is a Physiotherapist.
It was a surprising meeting for the two locals after both had been called up by Queensland Athletics for Athletics Championships.
Held at Sydney Olympic Park, Blayne was providing physiotherapy services for the Queensland Heat Athletics Team and Kimberley was competing in Discus and Shot-Put events in the Under 20s.
