It seems like Ken Poulsen has just received a letter of thanks for the last despatch of used eye glasses in November when he’s sending off another 155 pairs to Lions Recycle for Sight.

The glasses were handed into the Tenterfield Pharmacy or Brennan and Smith Optometrists (and a few came directly to Ken) to be repurposed for underprivileged people in third world countries who can’t afford glasses.
The initiative has two centres for recycling, staffed by volunteers and Work for the Dole participants. Since it began, 2.5 million pairs of glasses have been distributed to those in need including a healthy contribution from Tenterfield.
The more the merrier – as far as Ken’s concerned – so please keep handing in your old glasses at the pharmacy or optometrist, or flag down Ken. He’s often found at the post office dispatching yet another case of donations, in a Lions Christmas Cake box, of course.
