While there have been larger fields, the club’s Val Davidson said 170 is a nice, comfortable, full field, and it will be a very competitive one. Entries include a very large number of players with very low handicaps, from 25 clubs from an area stretching from Hervey Bay to St George out west and south to Sawtell.
It will be a 4-ball competition on the Thursday, followed by the singles championship on the Friday.
The event has been an annual success since moving to its April slot, with many participants staying on for the Oracles of the Bush Festival.
“And the dress shops love it,” Ms Davidson said. “For them it’s better than Christmas week.”
The full contingent of 22 Tenterfield golfers will also be swinging a club.
