Mayor Peter Petty is urging motorists to exercise caution when driving on roads within the Tenterfield Shire area, with many suffering damage from a wet March where 222.0mm officially fell into the rain gauge.

“Shire-wide we have suffered considerable road and bridge damage due to the recent rain event,” he said.
“Council staff are working to reinstate roads to a serviceable level but your consideration, patience and assistance is greatly appreciated.”
Drivers are being asked to drive to the road conditions and adhere to temporary road signage which may be in place, particularly over the busy school holiday period.

This week the crews are working on resealing sections of Mole Station Road and Woodside Road.
Grading works are also being carried out on Doughertys Road and Hootens Road.
