The installation of a truck wash at the saleyards can now move forward with Roads & Maritime minister Melinda Pavey advising the success of a funding application. As well as the major truck wash the project will incorporate treatment facilities and enabling infrastructure.

While it’s not the $1.2 million Tenterfield Shire Council was seeking for the project, the $600,000 comes with a NSW Transport commitment to have its officers rescope the project, which is expected to reduce the original projected cost.
Council’s general manager Damien Connor said the project will be done largely under contract, with council undertaking the necessary earthworks.
“This is a great step forward for this important community facility,” Mayor Peter Petty said.
“Our region is reliant on the revenue generated through the Tenterfield Saleyards and the addition of this facility will continue to ensure their viability into the future.”
