Through Tenterfield High School he has gained selection for the North West and then Greater Western Combined High Schools (CHS) teams, and is set to play in the state finals in Toronto (near Newcastle) later this month.
On weekends he’s in the Stanthorpe Gremlins U16 team, and has also been selected through them for the Warwick and District Chargers rep team.
Last month Tyler and mates Aiden Paynter and Kynan Koch went to Mudgee for touch football trials, with Tyler gaining selection for the North West team in that sport as well.
All this sport at ever-higher levels is keeping mum Polly and Tyler on the road, chewing up the miles driving to various trials and carnivals. Polly, however, said her son is excited at his prospects and quite proud of his selections.
“His dream is to play professionally,” she said.
