Tenterfield library to host National Simultaneous Storytime on May 24, 2017

Hey diddle diddle – Tenterfield children are being encouraged to join in the National Simultaneous Storytime on Wednesday at 11am at the library.

The book this year – the 17th annual event – will be The Cow Tripped Over the Moon, written by Tony Wilson and illustrated by Laura Wood.

Children in libraries all over the nation will hear the same story at the same time.

Tenterfield Library is hosting kids from Tenterfield Preschool for a story reading, and anyone else is welcome to come along at 11am and listen in.

The Australian Library and Information Association co-ordinates the event, which aims to encourage more young Australians to read and enjoy books.

Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, preschools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country.

In 2016, more than 520,000 children at more than 3500 places across Australia took part.
