Greg (‘Catman’) Ambrose maintains that his luck has turned around after a serious fall off a ladder last year while rescuing his cat from a neighbour’s roof. (Read that story here.)
Greg has been pivotal in wins at the Tannymorel carnival in April (with Lead Don Lewis, Third Gil Battersby and Skip Neville Richardson) followed by a win in The Summit Turkey Triples in May (Lead Elana Scott, Skip Neville Richardson) then winning the Inglewood Fours with Lead Don Lewis, Third Rob Alcock and Skip Neville Richardson.
We had to overcome teams from Inglewood, Southern Cross and Clifton over three rounds, on the way to winning the carnival.
It was a great team effort with everyone contributing to the win. We’re especially proud of super-veteran Don Lewis who consistently gave the team a good start.
The team luck continued on the way home. While we did collect a kangaroo on the Texas-Inglewood road, the damage to the vehicle was minor so it didn’t diminish the smiles from the happy bowlers.
We’re all hoping this luck continues into our next carnival – the Sexton & Green Triples on June 11, where we will face some of the best bowlers in New England.
