Highland Court Angus is situated at “Elms Court”, Stonehenge, just south of Glen Innes. The stud runs alongside a commercial herd to breed steers for the feedlots and B3 and EU markets. Principals Owen and Kaylene Pedlow said they focus on breeding well structured, easy doing cattle that don’t rely on being pampered to survive. This year they will sell 25 bulls by Ythanbrae and a range of AI sires.

Highland Court Angus has been operating for 15 years and conducting an on-property sale annually for the past six years.
“As cattle breeding operations have a large work load already, we need our stock to calve naturally with ease, and be able to withstand dry spells and maintain condition and fertility under paddock conditions,” Mr Pedlow said.
“Our stud cattle run under the same stocking rate as our commercial cattle to challenge them so we can sort the good doing cattle under normal feed conditions.
“We sell our steers on to the Feedlot market with our top 20 per cent of heifers rejoined to Angus bulls and the next 40 per cent to Wagyu bulls to breed F1 Wagyu calves for feeder markets, and the balance are taken on to slaughter at EU weights.
“This year, we will be selling 25 bulls by AI sires as well as Ythanbrae Stud sires which we purchased.
We have also recently purchased three Texas Stud bulls to keep plenty of growth, yet maintaining marbling traits, as I believe there will be strong demand for growthy heifers with IMF for the F1 Wagyu production.”
Highland Court Angus is a family run operation consisting Owen and Kaylene, their two sons plus two other employees.
