Mrs Potter’s series depicted a historical narrative of the hardships of early pioneering life in the Tenterfield area, and proved very popular with buyers queuing up at the gallery door for an opportunity to secure one of the pieces.
Also included in the duel exhibition were sculptures in wood and stone by Stanthorpe artist Richard Pfeiffer.
Artists Collective Studio member Anni Washington said there was a real buzz on the night, with attendees swapping anecdotes about their connection to Mrs Potter, and to the scenes depicted in the artwork.
Despite the sell-out, all artwork remains on exhibition until Thursday, October 19 before moving into private collections. Don’t pass up the opportunity to see all the works in one place.
