The challenge is usually convened on the October long weekend, but regional cricket commitments down Lismore way forced a rescheduling.
As usual the Lismore Lager Boys took home the trophy, as the rep team has done most years in the challenge’s history.
“They’re the pros, we’re the hacks,” Torrington rep Richard Cork said.
One exception was when the cricket was rained out last year and the challenge was transferred to darts and pool in Torrington Hall, with the local lads the victors.
This year the weather was kind, however, and the Mason brothers jointly took home the award for MVPP (Most Valuable P….d Player).
Young gun player Tallis was so enthusiastic he shattered his bat on the way to scoring a good 20 runs.
Prizes were generously donated by CRT Deepwater and other local businesses, and thanks also goes to Torrington War Memorial Trust members for all their help.
