We live in a physical and spiritual world. From the beginning of time, a battle has raged between good and evil and it occurs in families, marriages, governments and countries; it all has the same root cause: a struggle between right and wrong.

Every government has laws we are required to follow for our own wellbeing and the wellbeing of our neighbours. For example, it is against the law to murder someone. If we murder someone, then we can expect to be tried as a murderer and do a lengthy time in prison. No one would argue that this is not a good law. Without laws to follow in our society, it would be total chaos and an unsafe environment for everyone.
We all have free will within the bounds of the law, however there are consequences in life in the choices and decisions we make. Some choices will be good for us and other choices are likely to cause us harm.
God has given us 10 laws to follow for our own good and the good of others.
The first four are concerned with loving God with all our heart soul, mind and strength and the other six are about loving our neighbour. These are those six in shortened version: “Honour your father and mother; don't murder; don't commit adultery; don't steal; don't lie about someone; don't covet anything that does not belong to you.”
Today I wish to highlight – “don't commit adultery”. Marriage was designed by God because He saw “it was not good for mankind to be alone”. So he created the perfect help mate, being a woman, and brought her to the man and they came together in a sexual bond and became “one flesh”. God didn't want them to commit adultery because it breaks that “one flesh” bond and causes hurt and pain, and it damages children.
Unfortunately, today immorality is rife and people have no understanding about right and wrong from God's perspective. In God's eyes, anyone who lives in a relationship contrary to husband and wife is living in immorality. The truth is the truth where God is concerned, as much as we want to argue against it. It is all written in black and white in the Holy Bible.
However, Jesus came and brought hope and forgiveness to those who sought his help. He does the same today. Jesus paid the price for all our sin. Why not seek him out today in a local church and find everlasting life and freedom from hurt and pain.
