The Slammers played valiantly only going down by three runs.
The Slammers played valiantly only going down by three runs, due in part to James Jerome’s impressive half century. Ella Wishart bowled exceptionally well taking 2/6 for the XI Ducks, as did Dylan Horn who took 2/10.
Jayson Murphy had a good knock for the XI Ducks hitting 42 runs, whilst Todd Hayne managed 28. James Jerome also proved to be an all-rounder taking 1/2 runs and also bowling a maiden over, and Nate Dunks took 1/3. Andrew Stuart had a blinder of a match as the wicket keeper with a catch and two stumpings for the Slammers. Final score was XI Ducks 6/113 against the Slammers 7/110.
Wednesday night saw the Short Fuses win their game 10/135 to the Tavern’s 4/120. Short Fuses batted first with Daniel Puglisi putting the most runs on the board with 47 and Nev Koch also contributing 35. Dylan Sattolo was the stand-out bowler for the Tavern getting a huge four wickets in one over including a hat trick to have the Short Fuses all out on the last ball of their innings. Pat Spillane also bowled well taking 2/12. Dave Fowler batted well for the Tavern retiring on 50. JJ Cusack of the Short Fuses bowled well taking 2/10 while Neville Koch and Matt Ware kept the runs down 1/6 and 1/8 respectively.
This week the KLAS Bouncers take on the Tavern on Wednesday night while the Telegraph Slammers are up against the Short Fuses. The XI Ducks have a bye.
