More than $600 was raised for Tenterfield’s newest sporting outlet when Colin and Helen Chevalley threw open the gates to their country garden on Sunday, November 6, and garden lovers responded.
All proceeds went to helping Tenterfield Traditional Archers Inc become established at its new Steinbrook Rd base, with organisers hoping to have the grounds open for archers by Christmas.
“There were so many people, and it was beautiful weather,” Tenterfield Traditional Archers’ Marian Rogan said.
“The country hospitality was amazing, with Colin showing off his cattle and Helen showing off her chooks, and I came home with some blue eggs!”
The group’s next fundraiser is another raffle in front of Coles on November 28, but in the meantime Mrs Rogan said kiddie-sized bows and arrows would be ideal for Christmas gift-giving. She said she’s happy to advise on the best equipment for budding archers, and can be contacted on 0412 261 593.
Further information on joining the archers can be found at the Tenterfield Traditional Archers Inc Facebook page.
