Brendan Minns tried valiantly to get the run score up for the Bouncers, hitting 37 but Dave Fowler bowled too well for the Tavern taking 3/9 while Will Holley had a great spell taking two wickets and conceding just six runs.
Dave Fowler and Pat Spillane formed a great opening partnership for the Tavern scoring 25 and 22 runs respectively. Matt Savins bowled brilliantly for the KLAS Bouncers taking 1/2.
In an extremely tight game on Thursday night the Slammers defeated the Short Fuses by two runs scoring 8/97 to the Fuses 8/95.
Andrew Stuart had a great knock for the Slammers scoring 30 runs while father and son duo Scott and Luke Bates both bowled excellently taking 3/2 and 2/14 respectively.
Mark O’Neill and Scott Bates also formed an impressive opening partnership scoring 23 and 27 runs respectively. Geoff Swan had an absolute blinder of a game taking four wickets, backed up by Jahkeem Binge who took two wickets.
At present the XI Ducks are topping the leaderboard with seven points, the Telegraph Slammers are on four points and the remaining three teams are on three points apiece.
This week sees the Tavern take on the Telegraph Slammers on Wednesday night and the XI Ducks take on the KLAS Bouncers on Thursday night.
