Voting in the upcoming New England by-election is compulsory and the Australian Electoral Commission warns that if you do not vote and do not have a valid reason for failing to vote, you will be fined.

For those who can’t make it to a polling place between 8am and 6pm on Saturday, December 2 however, early polling is available.
Early polling will be operating at Tenterfield Memorial Hall on Wednesday, November 29 (8.30am to 6pm), Thursday, November 30 (8.30am to 5.30pm) and Friday, December 1 (8.30am to 6pm.)
On polling day itself, polling stations will be operating again at Memorial Hall as well as Bonshaw Memorial Hall, Deepwater School of Arts, Drake Community Hall, Jennings Public School, Legume Hall, Liston Hall, Mingoola Public School and Urbenville Public School.
