A few of us went to the farmers market in town. It was really great to see locals involved. We hope it becomes a regular thing for Tenterfield. A few members were there selling their wares.
The teaching day with Irene Macendo was a lot of fun, learning how to make a Christmas tapestry. The roll up was good with 18 people. We also got a new member to our club on the day. Welcome Helen.
The Christmas Party was held at the Jennings Hotel at Wallangarra, attended by one of our patrons Teeni Dove who turned 90 this year. She is still involved with the society and is a great inspiration.
The rain was good at the beginning of the month for our gardens and lawns, but did bring the snails and plenty of weeding with it. We need more rain. It is becoming very dry and those winds don’t help.
Hint: If you have trouble with blackbirds in your garden and you drink percolated coffee, sprinkle the leftover beans on the garden. It deters them.
