Fashion on the Field Co-ordinator, Lindy Stevenson, said they were very grateful to the local business community that supports the popular event and this year there was $2800 in prizemoney up for grabs.
“Fashions on the Field are held after the last race and are a very popular part of our race meeting,” said Mrs Stevenson.
“This works well for us as it is held on the actual race track in front of the heritage grandstand which is a lovely viewing position.
“We have a new category this year for Junior Race Goer to help encourage and applaud the efforts of this young age category.”
Mrs Stevenson said this year’s judge will be seeking a look that expresses competitors’ own individual sense of style and attitude.
“This can incorporate current fashion trends but the main emphasis is on demonstrating your own personal style and individuality,” Mrs Stevenson said.
“The judge’s brief for 2018 is ‘Accessorise, stylise and be your own trend’.
“In the couples section we seek complementary styling showing personality, a balance of colour and design with a focus on clever co-ordination.”
Mrs Stevenson said the club was very grateful to the local business community that supported this segment.
Categories for 2018 will be:
Contemporary Racewear – Female, Best Dressed Gent, Most Elegant Lady and Most Stylish Couple. The Junior Race Goer will be the new category for 2018.
