Councillor Gary Verri was on hand to congratulate Susan Vinall on being named Citizen of the Year, with Jordan Green awarded the title of Young Citizen of the Year for 2018.
Sue has been a huge contributor and integral part of the Urbenville community for the better part of three decades. She has been a loyal member of the Urbenville Progress Association for 20 years, currently the secretary and has held that position for the past 15 years.
In addition Sue can boast 15 years membership with the Urbenville Campdraft Association (five as secretary), four years contribution to the Urbenville Youth Group, assistant treasurer of the Historical Society, 10 years IT support for the Urbenville RSL, 25 years IT support for the Masonic Lodge (both Urbenville and Lismore), and a decade of service to the Urbenville P&C.
Junior Citizen of the Year Jordan Green has packed a lot into her short years. While completing Year 12 in 2017 (concurrently earning a Certificate II in agriculture) she was also a valued volunteer of the Urbenville Progress Association, contributing greatly to all events.
Also last year Jordan was an entrant in the Far North Coast Group 1, Beef Cattle Junior Judging competition, and was the recipient of the 2017 Bos Indicus – Clint Edward Memorial Trophy and a Lions Youth of the Year entrant.
Jordan boasts quite a feather in her cap for her sporting achievements in competitive shooting, taking out first place in the South QLD Action Cup, NSW APA State Titles, ACT Action Pistol Championships, QLD PS State Championships, and QLD SSAA State Titles where she was also awarded Top Junior. She has also been an integral member of the Clay Target Shooting School rep representative team.
Jordan heads off to Armidale this year to continue her agricultural studies.
