The 11th Landmark Classic Campdraft and Sale kicks off at AELEC on Saturday, featuring nine days of campdrafting, challenging and premium sale action.
The event opens with three days of campdrafting, including the renowned incentive events and the Prydes EasiFeed Australian Performance Horse Challenge in the AELEC indoor arena.
The Landmark Classic boasts more than $250,000 in cash and prizes, including a $40,000 classic campdraft winner’s cheque.
There has been a record 635 catalogued lots for the 2018 Classic Sale, with some exceptionally bred and well trained performance horses to suit a range of buyer needs.
It’s an event Landmark Equine Sales Support worker Hannah Murray guarantees will draw large crowds.
“It’s the biggest event at AELEC and probably one of the biggest in Tamworth,” Miss Murray said.
“It’s a family-friendly event showcasing some of the best young performance horses and riders in the country.
“It’s a great event because people come from every state and territory in the country.”
The top stallion in 2017 was lot 413 One Moore Metallic on account of R&R Livestock in southern Victoria, reaching $210,000 to set a new Australian record.
The Landmark Classic has become a national event and a social highlight for thousands of performance horse enthusiasts.
