The week that was in New England, North West NSW and South West Queensland

It’s been another busy week in the region.

Everyone is officially back in full swing after Christmas break and summer holidays.

All schools have returned and a new cohort have started in kindergarten across all our towns. 


Some towns are gearing up for their annual agricultural show. Glen Innes and Tenterfield will be celebrating this weekend.

Inverell are getting ready for a big one with their 150th Show just around the corner. 

There have been big funding announcements in Armidale and the local Showgirl is getting ready for the Zone competition. 

In Tamworth the AELEC is where all the action is taking place with the annual Landmark Sale drawing a huge crowd. 

Politics was the talk of most towns on Wednesday when the Member for New England, Barnaby Joyce was exposed as having an affair and is expecting a love child later in the year.
