The local chapter of Little Athletics – the Border Blues – sent a contingent of competitors to Laidley on the weekend of February 10/11 for a fine showing in the Downs & South West Regional Championships.

Coach Michelle McBurney reports that all the athletes performed very well, a considerable achievement given the 40 degree heat.
She said both she and fellow coach Susan Bright were as proud as the parents of the children’s performances.
Most of the athletes have now qualified to attend the state championships to be held March 23-25, at the Qld Sport and Athletics Centre in Nathan, Brisbane. The club is just awaiting official confirmation from Little Athletics Queensland.
