AN ARMIDALE man who distributed revenge porn to his partner’s sister has been sentenced to 18 months in prison.

The 33-year-old pleaded guilty to intentionally distributing an intimate image without consent, threatening to distribute the images and failing to appear in court.

He was in breach of four bonds for assault and damaging property.

On December 16, the man performed a number of sexual acts on the victim and asked to record it to watch later.

The victim agreed on the premise that the man delete the video that night and promise not to send it to himself.

Two days later he sent a message that read, “If ya wanna be smart I won’t let ya talk to the kids ever, aint my fault the kids lost it, ya do that and see all ya little family photos ya got here I burn em and I’ll sell ya big video on the web [sic],” to the victim.

The man was frustrated because the victim had refused to speak with her children, the court heard.

A photo of the victim’s vagina was then sent to her sister with the caption, “Show her this. Answer ya phone now or im pressing post. Tell her if my phone don’t ring within 3 minutes from now its going up [sic].”

The perpetrator sent five threatening messages to the victim on January 1 from 3am to 3pm.

The man and his partner had been in a relationship for four years and have three children together, the court heard.

Police prosecutor Cheryl Hall said it should have remained a private sexual act.

“She had immediately told him to delete it multiple times, only two days after the act he then started making threats that he was going to post it,” Sergeant Hall said.

She had immediately told him to delete it multiple times.

The man repeatedly sent messages to the victim threatening to put the video on Facebook if she did not talk to their children.

“Ya don’t answer the video going up now. Go on face book and have a look at ya pussy,” he wrote.

On January 1 the victim reported the incidents to police in Sydney.

The offender was sentenced to 18 months in prison, 12 months non-parole.
