
The EPA and Tenterfield Shire Council representatives will meet again in court in June.
The NSW Environment Protection Agency (EPA) has commenced proceedings and prosecution of Tenterfield Shire Council over a sewage spill, councillors were informed at April’s meeting.
The EPA advises the council has plead guilty to the alleged water pollution offence that occurred in June 2016.
On April 17 a sentence hearing took place before the Armidale Local Court. At that time the hearing did not conclude and will resume on June 19.
When approached for comment council’s chief executive Terry Dodds said he had to decline as the matter is before the courts.
