In this the 18th year there are 14 exhibitors, consisting of the regular stalwarts and some returning exhibitors, along with Mill first-timers Raylee Delaney and Judy Harris.
Ms Delaney comes back to the art world after an earlier career as a studio potter and watercolourist. Her pieces are inspired by the Northern Tablelands landscape and feature mostly flowers, along with a few horses.
She has been faithful to her first love, watercolours, but has also delved into pastel and more recently acrylic, as reflected in her collection.
RELATED STORIES:
The images that Mrs Harris’s work can depict with seemingly a few random lines is astonishing, and her clean, crisp yet evocative pieces are modern yet timeless.
“It seems the recurring preoccupation in my images is with line and what line can do, using mainly charcoal, pastels, inks and various pencils,” she said.
Her inspiration comes from her surroundings, be it animals, objects, rocks or even a fragment of conversation.
As well as paintings and drawings the A Case of Art in the Mill exhibition features sculptures, metalwork, ceramics, timberwork, glass and silk.
Opening night is Friday, May 4 at 7pm with all welcome. The exhibition continues all day Saturday and Sunday (9am to late) and Monday (9am to 4pm).
