Last Saturday they had 15 points scored against them via penalty kicks and this week, for the second week running, penalties and ill-discipline cost the Bumblebees as they went down 22-20.
Bumblebees captain Jeremy Phipps lamented his side were also too poor defensively against the Cockies on their home turf.
“The guys struggled with discipline,” he said.
“We just didn't click as a team as we normally should and the defence wasn't up to scratch.
“They matched us in the forwards and we just weren't disciplined enough with some aspects of the game.”
The Bees are back at Federation Park this Saturday to take on Murwillumbah.
The last time they met, the Tenterfield side conceded too many penalties early and gifted their opponents an 8-7 lead at half-time before they went on to win the game 18-7.
Phipps said his team need to get back to basics and focus on their own game plan as they prepare for the round seven clash.
“Every game, all the new recruits are certainly stepping up so every game is a new lesson learned,” he said.
“Most of our games will be won in the forwards, but just working on a bit of team discipline and playing our game and not trying to play theirs.”
