The Tenterfield Tigers missed out on a round nine win against Bingara with a two-point loss to the Missiles.
Coach Wayne Minns said a few early mistakes proved costly but he was happy with his team’s performance against the third-placed Bingara side.
“They were just bad errors of judgement on first tackle and second tackle on their line and we didn't put them under enough pressure,” he said.
“Had we put them under enough pressure it might have been a little bit different. Other than that I thought our defence was really good, we defended really well.
“Our attack is coming together but it was just a case of just giving a couple of opportunities where we shouldn't have.”
Minns said it is a case of polishing their skills which will get them over the line in coming clashes.
“Sharpen up and keep working on the little things and getting those one percenters right, making sure we don't have those brainsnaps,” he said.
