Sunday lunch in the banquet hall at the Tenterfield School of Arts on June 3 was a lovely affair, and one which should be repeated, Friends of the Sir Henry Parkes Memorial School of Arts secretary Christine Denis said.

The challenge will be to line up entertainment to match that provided by Peter Harris on Sunday,
Mrs Denis described Mr Harris’s retelling of the Burke and Wills expedition set to music as very informative, and a different way of learning.
“It was an entirely painless way to learn history,” she said.
The aim of the exercise was to bring new people into the School of Arts. While there was just a smattering of those, the familiar faces who did participate had a good time.
The Friends continue to explore more ways to bring people into the facility with a range of offerings. The Melbourne City Ballet Company performance of Carmen last Thursday evening was a huge hit, completely sold out.
“It’s a venue that needs to be used,” Mrs Denis said.
The next live performance in the theatre – among a busy schedule of movie screenings – is another instalment of Peter Harris’s music supper club on June 13 from 7pm. The theme this time is The Feminine Touch, and the $15 tickets provide access to an hour of live music and song courtesy of Live and Local artists Emma Gianoli and Christine Davis.
After the interval the show moves onto screenings of some great clips of well-loved famous female artists including Carly Simon, Judith Durham, ABBA, Patsy Cline, Norah Jones, Carole King and Helen Reddy.
Mr Harris reckons you will need to be in good voice to join in singing all the great hits.
