The Tigers donned the red, white and blue of the Sydney Roosters for long-time supporter Aub Gillespie.
Both the league tag and the men’s teams turned out in the commemorative jerseys against Uralla and auctioned them off after the games.
Around $5500 was raised for Tenterfield junior league from the jersey auction with the number 12 jersey worn by Jacob Harding drawing the highest price at $380.
“We were very proud of the efforts of everyone that bought a jersey and thankful for their support,” Tenterfield Tigers president Brendan Minns said.
“It was a massive day. It was great to go back to the clubhouse, do the auction and have a few beers.”
Minns also thanked a number of special guests for attending.
“Pat Gillespie for being part of it, and the Gillespie family and Ben Johnson of Ray White for doing the auctioneering,” he said.
