Rescuers tried to revive the two-year-old girl on Tuesday after the 9.30am accident, but she died at the scene after suffering critical head injuries. 

“The girl suffered critical injuries and could not be revived,” a NSW Police spokesperson said.

Police have been told a 29-year-old man was riding a Honda motorcycle in a paddock, with his 19-month-old daughter seated in front of him, when he lost control of the motorcycle causing the girl to be ejected.

The rider was taken to Inverell Hospital where a mandatory blood and urine sample was obtained.

Police from New England Police District, as well as Northern Tablelands Crash Investigation Unit and the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit attended the scene to conduct inquiries.

The investigation continues and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.

Crash investigators from Tamworth were called to the scene and spent much of the day with local police and detectives examining the area.

Emergency services including paramedics, police and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter were first called to the property about 9.30am.

Officers will now prepare a report for the coroner who will determine the cause of death.

Police Media have confirmed a two-year-old girl involved in a motorcycle accident at Delungra suffered critical injuries and could not be revived.

Emergency services were called to a property at Delungra following reports the girl had fallen from a motorcycle at around 9.30am this morning (July 24).

NSW Ambulance arrived to find the girl had suffered critical injuries and were unable to revive her.

Officers from the New England Police District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
