Tenterfield Traditional Archers are hosting a national championship event at their club grounds on the weekend of October 6/7. This is the Tenterfield club’s first big event and they were chosen to host this historic (for the association ) competition due to their location in the New England, so support is anticipated from other archery clubs from Queensland and from the NSW coast areas. There are also nominations coming in from as far off as Western Australia.

The weekend will be run by the National Association and will consist of scored field rounds on both days. There are novelty events on the Saturday and spectators are encouraged to drop in for a look.
Check out some of the best traditional archers in the country as they try their hand at the rolling disc targets, the hog hollow set up and the speed round, to name a few. There will be knife and axe throwing that is always entertaining.
Arrangements will be made for spectators on the Saturday to allow safe viewing from any time after 10am. Visitors are advised to leave their vehicle in the car park on arrival, and it’s just a short walk to the registration tent from where you will be directed to the viewing area(s). There will be food, drink and raffles running all day.
