Mystery solved
Old Tenterfield Car Club members Pat Gillespie and Jim Mulherin were able to shed some light on the mystery of the old car badge.
A club did exist in the mid-1960s and competed locally and in adjoining towns in sporting and gymkhana type events, such as the Mingoola Car Sports, where you could win prizes such as a new tyre, 44 gallon drum of petrol (176 litres) or 10 gallons of oil!
The club did not last long however and had completely disappeared by the time the current club (NEVVCC) was formed in the early 1970s.
Pictured is a cloth and metal badge featuring the original green colour. Any additional information would be most welcome.
