One man’s trash is another man’s treasure – or so the saying goes – and mixed auctions are a great place to see recycling, repurposing and reusing in action.
There was a strong contingent on hand at the Tenterfield Showground on Saturday, September 22 for another Furniture & Collectibles Auction in the Wool Pavilion. Bidders jostled for vintage items, given that authenticity and ‘provenance’ are the catchwords in decorating trends.
Lots on offer ranged from coins to sideboards, and just about anything you could think of in between.
Such venues are always opportunities to secure unrecognised gems at a bargain, as well as serving as a popular social gathering. Volunteers from the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter were on hand to ensure no bidders went thirsty or hungry.
