Member for Lismore Thomas George took aim as he officially opened the field archery national muster hosted by Tenterfield over the weekend, sweetening the deal with the announcement of $54,000 in funding for the local club.

The grant will continue the development of an archery centre, through round two of the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund.
The money will fund the construction of a new sheltered area at the archery range which will increase the Tenterfield Traditional Archers capacity to hold major shooting events into the future.
Mr George said the club and its members have done an incredible job in building new shooting ranges and facilities at the previously-disused Scrub Road site.
“The Tenterfield Traditional Archers will now be able to build a shared undercover seating and barbecue area allowing competition to take place no matter the weather conditions.
“This will further complement the work which has already been done by members to construct a disabled toilet, making the sport accessible to everyone in the community.”
Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional NSW John Barilaro said the roll out of the second round projects takes Stronger Country Communities funding to $300 million.
“I congratulate Tenterfield Shire Council and look forward to the local sports and community facility improvements that will make the region an even more attractive place to work and raise a family,” Mr Barilaro said.
“The $300 million Stronger Country Communities Fund is part of the NSW Government’s $1.6 billion Regional Growth Fund that is employing local tradies, putting local suppliers to work and providing the right environment to operate regional businesses,” he said.
