Organised by Student Support Officer Roberta Koch, the day will feature activities and workshops for students, parents, community members and community agency workers.
“Students in each year group are organising fun activities for students and parents,” Ms Koch said.
“One of the strong positive features of the day is the involvement of community agencies and groups in delivering workshops. Local primary school students will also be attending.”
The program includes a free workshop for adults run by Spirit Dreaming Training & Education Solutions on dealing with the impacts of lateral violence. The workshop will be repeated several times during the day.
Community members who wish to attend one of the Spirit Dreaming workshops should contact the school on (02) 6736 1200 to confirm their attendance, as participant numbers are limited.
Principal Sandra Rosner congratulated students and staff for their enthusiasm and commitment in organising the Community Wellbeing Day.
“The efforts of students and staff in devising and running the activities reflects the school’s focus on supporting good mental health and wellbeing in the community,” she said.
“We are intent on creating a school climate that supports students to thrive.
“The range of workshops also reflect the school’s strong commitment to building collaborative partnerships with community agencies and groups.”
Parents and carers of Tenterfield High School students are especially welcome to attend and participate in activities and workshops with their children.
