Mark played in the over 50’s Division and played a vital role in his teams’ success.

This is Mark’s second year in plating for NSW, after previously being selected to represent Australia a few years back. Mark’s team won the first game in a nail-biting win coming to a drop off of 3 on 3.

NSW taking the win of 6-5. During the second game NSW showed QLD what they are made of and took an easy win of 5-2.

The last game saw both teams playing to their highest standards, and resulted in QLD taking the win. Mark Koch was apart of the NSW team to claim the State of Origin Series Shield.

Tenterfield Touch Football kicked off its season on the October 15.

Registrations were held at The Tenterfield Bowling with 75 Juniors, 80 A Grade and 110 B Grade players registering. This is the largest number of participants the club have had in years.

The Junior Competition is held on Monday afternoons 4:45pm-5:45pm and is divided into several age groups, to cater for all participants. Tiny Tots (5yrs-6yrs), Mighty Minis (7yr-8yrs), Juniors (9yrs-12yrs). All Junior players received a playing shirt upon registration, which is sponsored by the Club major sponsor the Tenterfield Bowling Club and the Junior Sponsor TDG Business Services. Tenterfield Touch Football are interested in sending Junior Teams away to The Annual Regional Carnival held in Ballina. In 2017 Tenterfield took an under 10s and under 12s Team away to participate in the Carnival. The Junior Competition is strongly run on volunteers each week. The A Grade Competition is held on Monday nights following the Junior Competition. All participants were required to register with a team. This competition is for the competitive sportsperson and involves several skilled players. After the competition of round one last year’s grand final winners the “Untouchables” are back again and are currently leading the score board as undefeated. This team is led by the Clubs Vice-President Megg Landers.

The B Grade Competition is new competition that was introduced to the Club by the Secretary Keely Mooney, who spent majority of the off season, organising this competition, which is strongly supported by all committee members. The B Grade Competition is a social competition, and encourages past players to return, current players to share their skills and new comers to easily be introduced into the game.

Club President Keven Mooney is extremely happy with the response of the community and hopes to keep the cost down for all competitions in years to come to encourage all community members to participate in Touch Football. Keven is excited about the season ahead, as Several Junior Players are participating at State Cup in February, this is the States biggest carnival. With numbers increasing we are seeking opportunities to participate in competitions outside of Tenterfield for Juniors and Seniors
