The Rotary Club of Tenterfield is well underway with preparations for the 10th Bavarian Music Festival & Beerfest, to be held from 6th to 10th March 2019.
Festival favourites are once again on the agenda, including the Brass Band Concert at the School of Arts and the Beer Fest at Memorial Hall – a celebration of German food, music and beer. There will be a free concert in Bruxner Park on Saturday 9th March, with market stalls and the band playing a short concert.
There are some new events on the agenda this year, with the band playing a Mini Concert at Ballandean Estate on Wednesday 6th March. There are also open gardens at Glenrock Gardens over the weekend and a roast lunch at Tenterfield Transport Museum (the band will not be playing at these two events).
The band are looking forward to their visit to Australia, with 31 musicians and seven supporters spending a week in Tenterfield in March 2019. The group are hosted by local families, encouraging friendship and fellowship.
This is a great cultural opportunity and a rewarding experience. If hosting a band member (or two) is something you’re interested in, please get in touch with the Rotary Club of Tenterfield rotarytenterfield@gmail.com or 02 6736 2426.
Jane and Martin I’Ons are regular hosts, establishing an ongoing connection with a then-engaged couple they hosted in 2013 and again as a married couple in 2015. They’ve since received news of the Christening of the couple’s baby in Ottobeuren Abbey, by former Tenterfield priest Father Gerard Hayes, no less.
Tickets for the Beerfest can be booked online at www.trybooking.com/YIKB or through Tenterfield Insurance Agencies (cash only). Get in quickly, as they will sell out.
