It all ramps up around 5pm, continuing on until 8pm. Santa will be arriving on the big red fire engine around 7pm. He’ll have some goodies to hand out to all the kids, and be ready to take gift requests.
Those who prefer to put their requests in writing can bring them along and pop them into Santa’s mailbox on the night. He’s be taking them home with him for due consideration, and every child receives a response.
Winners of the school colouring-in competition will be announced on the night, with prizes supplied by sponsor Sullivan’s Newsagency.
Live Dream Dance studio will be putting on free performances at around 5.30pm, after its hugely-successful concert at the Tenterfield School of Arts last month.
The dancers will be followed by a Stanthorpe band providing live music to rock away the rest of the evening.
Major prize in the raffle draw is a wheelbarrow piled with $320 of groceries, so Christmas catering could all be taken care of. There will also be the Chocolate Wheel and then a ham and Christmas cake stall for those who miss out.
More stalls include some from Saturdays’ Farmers and Producers Market, the Men’s Shed and a craft table. High School students are helping out with face painting stand, and there will be big and small jumping castles, train rides and games for the kids.
No-one will go hungry with a barbecue operating, hot and cold drinks and the infamous Lions donut van.
All proceeds go towards keeping the rescue helicopter flying.
