For the first time this year nominations also opened to those who reside outside the shire but contribute to it.
Tenterfield Shire Council is promising another big morning of entertainment, recognition and celebration.
Awards will be presented to Citizen of the Year (although for the past two years it’s been a duel award to a couple), Young Citizen of the Year, Young Sportsperson of the Year, Emergency Services Volunteer of the Year and Community Event of the Year.
“Unfortunately there were no nominations for Sportsperson of the Year but council was overwhelmed at the number and calibre of the nominations this year,” Mayor Peter Petty said. Cr Petty is on the selection panel.
