Saturday saw keen golfers hit the greens for a four-person ambrose golf day at the Tenterfield Golf Club followed by a jersey auction at the Tenterfield Tavern.
The auction got underway at 7pm with more than $6000 raised from bidders.
Last week, Tigers president Brendan Minns said “generally speaking, your number one, six and seven, you have Jarrod McIntosh who scores quite a lot of tries so his jersey normally goes fairly well.”
He was spot on with the number seven the top-priced jersey, earning $600.
Number 19 was second though with $450 spent while 13 came in third at $420.
The number six made the top five with $360 while number eight made $350.
“It was really good to see some support,” Minns said.
“There are a couple of new sponsors on board which is great.”
The Group 19 season is just around the corner with the competition set to start on the first weekend in April.
Tingha and Bundarra will join the successful second division competition in addition to the seven clubs who played last year – Guyra, Walcha, Uralla, Tenterfield, Warialda, Ashford and Bingara.
Bundarra sat out last season after winning the Group 4 second division the year before.
Last year was a struggle for Tingha who played in the Group 19 first division.
They struggled for numbers and finished with the wooden spoon.
The draw for the 2019 competition is yet to be released.
