Austin Curtin's name was pulled first from the proverbial hat on Thursday, March 7 to determine the order of names on the ballot paper.

The impact of so-called 'donkey votes' (where voters number their preferences from top to bottom without reference to the candidates in those positions) can be significant in marginal seats, which this time includes Lismore.
The Nationals nearest rival is the Greens, represented by Sue Higginson at the number six position in a field of seven.
Labor's Janelle Saffin is mid-field at fourth position. The remaining candidate participating in the Tenterfield Business Chamber's Candidate Q&A on February 7 -- independent Greg Bennett -- is just ahead of her in position three.
Rounding out the field are the Animal Justice Party's Alison Waters (second) Sustainable Australia's David Taylor (fifth) and Australian Conservatives' Paul Collits (seventh).
